Sol de Janeiro released their iconic Brazilian Bum Bum Cream ($ 22) in 2016 and I have been a loyal fan ever since. I can vividly remember the day I received my summer lotion in the mail, packaged in its bright golden jar with the most delicious aroma — a blend of peanuts, salted caramel and vanilla. a fragrance that quickly became the scent of my summer. Since then, Sol de Janeiro has expanded into skin care as well as hair care, makeup and perfume. As much as I love the original Bum Bum Cream and its other launch products, none of the brand’s versions excite me as much as the Beija Flor Elasti-Cream ($ 22), which hit the shelves earlier this year.
Set in a pink bubble gum jar, Beija Flor Elasti-Cream has the same creamy texture as the original Bum Bum Cream that soaks the skin in declining hydration. Only instead of being designed to tighten and tighten the skin like Bum Bum Cream does, it is designed to offer glowing, vibrant skin that looks as fresh as a baby’s bottom. As its hero ingredient is a vegan collagen – an essential protein that keeps skin healthy and supple – it puts skin on step all over your body, filling in even the most tired, creepy areas.
Although many dermatologists say that simply applying collagen-injected products is not enough to reverse the appearance of aging skin, Sol de Janeiro conducted a third-party study of 100 consumers who concluded that their skin felt “significantly softer”. , more resistant to scars. of aging and seems to have better elasticity with renewed bounce after two weeks of use “.
I can attest! Immediately after applying Beija Flor Collagen Cream (which is also mixed with moisturizing squalene, moisturizer and cacay oil, a popular retinol alternative), my skin looked smooth, deeply hydrated and nothing short of radiant – so I am now making a necessary skin care step after the shower.
Aside from its skin toning benefits, however, this cream smells heavenly – it ‘s the number one reason I love it so much. It is described on the website as having a “bright fresh floral scent” with hints of pink dragonfruit, lychee, Brazilian jasmine and vanilla. But if you ask me, it’s almost identical to Snif’s favorite Sweet Ash ($ 65) fragrance – one of my all-time favorites when I can add it to my cart before it runs out – which contains earthy juniper notes. bergamot, tonka, vanilla and patchouli.
Needless to say, it is a unique fragrance that is difficult to detect. One thing is for sure, though: he turns his head immediately. I won so many compliments on how I smell after I got into this cream from top to toenails. Fortunately for me (and all the other SDJ fans out there), the fragrance became so popular so quickly that it is now available in a mist fragrance — Brazilian Crush Cheirosa 68 Beija Flor Perfume Mist ($ 20). Although why not smell amazing and do you feel amazing, too?
If the most vibrant and fresh skin is on your wish list, this gentle baby lotion is well worth the campaign. My only regret? I do not buy jumbo, 240 ml jar with Beija Flor collagen cream ($ 48) to keep me all summer.
