My love for avocados is deep and life in California in recent years has pushed my taste for them into a complete obsession. When I saw this recipe for bread with abuto swirling on the internet, I knew I had to try it myself. I confess: At first I was skeptical about the potential waste of an expensive, perfectly ripe avocado in an experiment, but fortunately, I was not disappointed. So how exactly do you make avocado bread?
When it comes to making avocado bread, the method for madness is actually quite simple. It turns out that it is not much different from making your typical quick bread, also known as a bread made with a leavening agent (such as baking powder or baking soda) that allows the dough or dough mixture to be baked directly. B. Dylan Hollis explains in the TikTok video that you first need two very ripe medium avocados and 3/4 of a cup of granulated sugar, which you hang together using a wooden spoon until smooth. But there is no pressure to make it completely silky: A few small avocado clusters here and there is NBD.
