When your brain goes a million miles per minute, it’s good to take a few deep breaths, slow down and take root again with the Earth. During this week’s episode Trainer of the Month Clubthis is exactly what you will do as yoga instructor Pilin Anice takes us through a 30 minute ground flow to help you feel more focused.
“As we think about grounding, this is an opportunity to let everything that goes up and moves in our body begin to settle,” says Anice, who is Ailey Extension trainer, Mirror trainer and Lululemon’s ambassador. “These can be thoughts, they can be energies that you hold on to. So let every breath you take be an invitation to soften more, to release more, to ground more.”
During this video, you will focus a tone on your breathing, calming your body and mind before starting any gentle movement. This flow has nothing to do with moving fast and creating a ton of heat. Instead, you take things in stride and try not focus too much on the problem.
“When we make room for grounding, for rooting, it is this planting and the idea of spreading our roots down to the Earth support that can help us deal with any storms that arise, whatever we feel is taking us away from the center.” . says Anis. “We can go back to our breath, to what ground us, to this support that exists within us when we take the time to slow down.”
